Electrical Engineer and Assistant Professor in Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department of Ozyegin University, Istanbul, Turkey with 10 years of academic, 4 years of Industry experience in power grid operations and planning.
He is currently the Department Head of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and the Director of Grid Operations and Planning Laboratory at Ozyegin University and the Industrial Relations Coordinator at IEEE Turkey.
He received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2013 and 2015 respectively. He joined Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratory (MERL) in Boston, MA as a scientist in 2014, then Alevo Analytics in Charlotte, NC as a Power Systems Consultant in 2015, and later Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) as Grid Operations and Planning Scientist in 2016. Since 2017, he is a faculty member at Ozyegin University.
He has project experience on the topics of sustainable energy generation, energy efficiency framework, E-mobility infrastructure, flexibility assessment and forecasting in energy systems.
He completed industry consultancy on the following projects:
- Energy Markets at Electricity Market Operator (Turkey’s first green certificate project)
- Energy Storage at Distribution System (Turkey’s first battery implementation)
- Renewable Energy Economics at IECC (Germany)
- Energy Efficiency at Distribution System (Turkey)
- Electric Vehicles and E-mobility (Turkey)
- Smart Electric Vehicle Charging Pricing (Turkey’s first sustainable EV charger)
He is author/co-author of over 40 research papers accepted in leading international journals and international conferences.
