Our Undergraduate Student Selinay Çetin Awarded Project Support by TÜBİTAK

Selinay Çetin, a junior student in the Undergraduate Electrical-Electronics Engineering Program at Özyeğin University, has been granted project support under the TUBITAK 2209-A Research Project Support Program for University Students in recognition of her project supervised by Assistant Prof. Emre Sefer from the Department of Computer Science.

Çetin’s project "Discovery and Analysis of Multi-Scale Clusters by Simultaneous Analysis of DNA-DNA and RNA-RNA Interactions" will be supported from March 2024 to March 2025 under the second term of the Research Project Support Program for University Students in 2023. In her project, Çetin will focus on modeling as a graph the data obtained from chromosome conformation capture experiments, such as Hi-C, which are developed to understand the three-dimensional folding of DNA in cell nuclei. Subsequently, Çetin will merge this data with RNA-RNA interaction data to reveal and analyze multi-scale clusters.
