Exciting News from Dr. Kadir Durak and Quantum Optics Laboratory
We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department at Özyeğin University. Our department with its esteemed faculty members’ accomplishments continues to lead in innovation, research, and providing exceptional opportunities for our students.
Dr. Kadir Durak's Achievements
We are proud to announce that our esteemed faculty member Dr. Kadir Durak serves as the co-chair in the IST-219 Vulnerabilities of Quantum Technology group at NATO STO. His contributions are shaping the future of quantum technologies on a global scale.
QUBITRIUM - Türkiye's First Quantum Startup
Dr. Kadir Durak is also the founder of QUBITRIUM, Türkiye's pioneering quantum startup. Supported by NATO DIANA, QUBITRIUM offers groundbreaking advancements in quantum technology. We are excited to announce that QUBITRIUM offers job and internship opportunities, with three to five Özyeğin University students interning each year. Impressively, half of QUBITRIUM's employees in both Istanbul and the Netherlands are Özyeğin University EE graduates.
ÖzÜ Quantum Optics Laboratory
ÖzÜ Quantum Optics Laboratory is at the forefront of cutting-edge research with prestigious projects supported by SSB on defense applications of quantum technologies in Türkiye. This state-of-the-art lab provides our students with unparalleled opportunities to gain hands-on experience in quantum and space technologies.
Undergraduate Students’ Final Year Project Opportunities
Undergraduate students in their final year can engage in exciting projects, gaining hands-on experience with advanced quantum concepts and protocols. These include:
- Violation of Bell's inequality
- Creation and detection of entanglement
- Quantum key distribution
- Quantum imaging via entangled pairs
- Ultra-cold atom physics setups.
These experiences are designed to equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the rapidly evolving field of quantum technologies.
We invite you to explore these opportunities and join us in celebrating the achievements and innovations at Özyeğin University's Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department.
