Biography

Umut Başaran completed his PhD studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Stuttgart in Germany in 2006 and received his PhD degree in 2007. He earned his master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Kassel, Germany, in 2001, and completed his undergraduate education in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi in 1998.

During his PhD research, he worked on "Integrated Circuit Design for Communication Circuits and Modeling of SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS Transistors". He collaborated with the R&D departments of Alcatel (now Nokia Networks) and Infineon Technologies on projects funded by the European Union and Alcatel.

At AVL’s R&D Center in Türkiye, a global automotive design and technology company headquartered in Austria, he established and managed two hardware teams and an embedded software team working on international automotive projects. He also took on project management roles for various projects involving major automotive manufacturers and suppliers. In 2017 and 2018, he worked on different sensor technologies for smart home projects at Arçelik.

From 2006 to 2014, Umut Başaran worked as a senior engineer and technical project manager in the R&D centers of technology companies such as Infineon Technologies and Intel Corporation in Germany, focusing on circuit design and embedded software projects. The products developed during this period were utilized by numerous mobile phone and automotive companies. He has been granted four international patents through R&D projects at Intel Corporation and Infineon Technologies.
